Young people are the future of our generation but have experiences that are vastly different.
We are ‘Youth Truth’, a project led by young people in Tower Hamlets Youth Council who united to investigate a shared goal - Understanding the experience of young people in relationships.
Over various months, we have led an inquiry into youth pressures: toxic factors, and gender-based violence.
In collaboration with Tower Hamlets Youth Council, we have researched the youth of Tower Hamlets to gain insightful data to inform our report.
Who's been involved?
Young people have been at the core of this project, with them being the driving force to make sure youth voices are being heard. Through our research and findings we hope to lift the voices of youth people and spread awareness on their experiences while also providing support and encouragement.
Here are some recommendations on how OUR data can inform YOUR practices
- Using case studies for young people to analyse their relationships because young people see it in the world but not in themselves
- The need for anonymity to build confidence to talk about personal and intimate issues
- Communication through school with social prescribers to give support, awareness and education
