The teams core operational hours are from 3pm to 8pm during which most serious incidents and offences occur.
Youth centres
Our youth centres are a great place to make new friends, access support and get involved in a variety of free activities and trips.
We offer over 100 free activities across seven youth centres to young people aged 11 to 19 or up to 25 with SEND.
Youth workers provide young people with appropriate safe environments, where young people meet their peers and have fun, listen to music, chill out and relax.

You can get involved in a wide range of outdoor education and sports activities with our Outdoor Education team that will positively impact your health and well-being!

Get involved
To capture your voice to create positive outcomes for young people in the borough, we offer a range of programmes, including:
- Young Mayor programme
- Youth Cabinet
- Youth Council
- Children in Care Council
These platforms allow young people to share their opinions with the Mayor, CEO, Director and senior management.

Targeted support
We offer targeted support for vulnerable young people and their families.
Our aim is to address difficulties at the earliest opportunity to prevent risks and vulnerabilities of young people from escalating.
This often means working with vulnerable young people who may not meet the requirements for specialist services, but are at risk of further difficulties if they are not supported.
Young people and families can make referrals through the multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH) which provides a single ‘front door’ for young people and families to access additional support.

Our providers
Our fantastic commissioned providers help us to deliver a variety of support and activities for young people across the borough. These providers include:

Our investment
Young Tower Hamlets launched as a result of the £13.7m investment made from Tower Hamlets council.
The Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Lutfur Rahman said:
“Young Tower Hamlets demonstrates the commitment we are providing to our future generation.
"Young Tower Hamlets will provide excellent opportunities alongside a safe space for every young person in the borough, to improve their life chances.
“We are committed to investing in young people and have funded £19m for schemes including Young Tower Hamlets, providing universal free school meals for primary and secondary school pupils and reintroducing bursaries for education.”
