Volunteer Programme
In celebration of National Volunteering Week, we're announced the opening of x8 volunteering positions!
Each position is based on the feedback and guidance that YOU shared with US on what you want to see in your borough. All positions are open to young people aged 16-21.

What is the Youth Leadership Programme?
The Youth Leadership Programme is a brand new volunteering initiative for young people aged 16-21 (or up to 25 with SEND) in Tower Hamlets.
The programme will offer x8 young people exciting volunteer roles centred on social action through arts, sports, the environment, and community projects.
Over the course of 12 weeks, each volunteer will take part in a part-time programme that includes free training, mentoring, and hands-on experience delivering projects in the local community and youth centres.
The programme is designed to help young people build confidence, grow essential skills, and lead a project that creates real impact.
What roles we have available?
Arts and Heritage Youth Leader (x2 roles)
Passionate about arts and culture? You could have the opportunity to lead a creative project, or exhibition that celebrates stories, culture, and identity! This opportunity is perfect for young artists, activists, or anyone curious about art, history, and self-expression. As well as attending workshops at the town hall, you'll also work closely with Young Tower Hamlets team and internal members of staff at the council.
Community Action Youth Leader (x2 roles)
Passionate about community and collaboration? This opportunity could be for you! Speak out on the issues that matter to you and your community from mental health, to youth violence, and equality, or have the opportunity to run creative activities like bake-offs and open mic nights that bring people together and raise awareness.
Green Youth Action Leader (x2 roles)
Care about the climate? Design and deliver your own eco campaign, or community project to tackle issues like fast fashion, plastic waste, or climate justice and be part of the green solution. As a Green Youth Leader you'll have the opportunity to attend workshops and work closely with Young Tower Hamlets and internal staff making decisions at the council.
Sports and Adventure Leader (x2 roles)
Do you have an interest in sports and adventure? Unlock new opportunities as a Sports and Adventure Youth Leader and have the opportunity to lead on new and exciting activities for your peers.
